MDF – Medium Density Fiberboard

Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is a composite panel product consisting of cellulose fibers combined with a synthetic resin or other suitable bonding system and joined together under heat and pressure. Additives may be introduced during manufacturing to impart additional characteristics. The surface of MDF is flat, smooth, uniform, dense and free of knots and grain patterns, all of which make finishing operations easier and more consistent, especially for demanding uses such as direct printing and thin laminates. The homogeneous density profile of MDF allows intricate and precise machining and finishing techniques for superior finished products. Trim waste is significantly reduced when using MDF compared to other substrates. Stability and strength are important assets of MDF, and it holds precise tolerances in accurately cut parts.MDF is widely used in the manufacture of furniture, cabinets, door parts, mouldings, millwork and laminate flooring. MDF panels are manufactured in a variety of dimensions and densities, providing the opportunity to design the end product with the specific MDF needed.

Medium Density Fiberboard

GREEN,  No Added Formaldehyde ( NAF ) Moisture Resistant Medium Density Fiberboard ( GREEN NAF MR MDF )

GREEN,  No Added  Formaldehyde ( NAF ) Fire Rated Medium Density Fiberboard ( MDF ): Meets strict building codes and reduces liability exposure for schools, libraries, hospitals, museums and commercial interiors. Many glue suppliers have developed adhesives that are compatible with FR board.

No Added Formaldehyde ( NAF )Moisture Resistant Medium Density Fiberboard (MR MDF ): Perfect for sink bases, dishwasher enclosures, and a variety of wet-area residential applications. It’s also suitable for laboratories, locker rooms, laundry areas, and cafeterias of schools, industrial facilities and other public buildings where wetness or high humidity are a factor.

Delivering improved dimensional stability and reduced thickness swell when wet, valuable anywhere joints, seams and damage in laminated or finished surfaces allow moisture penetration. This includes interior window and door trim, baseboards and laminate flooring that may become wet from mopping, condensation or even foot traffic.

GREEN No Added Formaldehyde Medium Density Fiberboard ( MDF ): Recycled/recovered fiber content. With low urea formaldehyde emissions and recycled/recovered fiber content. Strength for fastener holding, precise machining characteristics, and an exceptionally smooth surface for laminating. Perfect choice for wall panels, flooring, furniture, cabinets and architectural accents in “green-sensitive” projects like hospitals, schools and civic facilities. Can contribute toward points in both LEED and Green Globe rating systems.
